on the coast of the state of Espírito Santo,
55km south of the state capital Vitória,  550 km north of Rio de Janeiro.

About Guarapari


The city has about 110.000 inhabitants, with all the infrastructure of a city,
but quite a smalltown feel, including low crime rates. 

It booms by receiving some 300.000 turists in the summertime,
and somewhat less during other holidays throughout the year. 
In 2007 Globo, the largest Brazilian TV network, 
recommended the Praia do Morro beach as the best place in the country
to spend New Year's Eve.

 


A genuinely Brazilian beach holiday

More people eventually came here than to even the most popular beaches of Rio de Janeiro.
On the other hand, Guarapari is still a hidden trasure for the foreign visitor.
This is where you will get a genuinely Brazilian beach holiday. 

Guarapari has more than 20 beaches to choose from.
Some are quite urban, like Praia do Morro, with bars, kiosks and restaurants along the beach front. 
Others are more deserted, depending on the season. 


 

 

Praia da Areia Negra

There is even a  beach with black monazite sand: Praia da Areia Negra. 
Some branches of alternative medicine claims great benefits from it,
-notably in cases of rheumatism, arthritis and gout.

Besides their natural beauty, the beaches offer a variety of activities for the more playful tourist.

If you are into deep sea game fishing, be aware the the world's biggest blue marlin
was caught right outside Guarapari.
